Typography in the Moving Image
On June 3–4, 2010, Eyes & Ears of Europe will, in collaboration with DW-TV in Berlin, offer an Eyes & Ears Academy on the subject of “Typography in the Moving Image”.

Typographic organization is a key discipline as it takes its place within the creation and the production of design, promotion, and advertising communications for the audiovisual media film & TV. Moving images offer totally different opportunities for typeface usage from, for instance, the print medium. The range of possibilities reaches from sober-pragmatic type design to opulent or even monumental typographic productions. In the course of high frequency image sequences animated typography can grow exponentially beyond itself, can take on impressive symbolical proportions. Reason enough, therefore, to explore the state and the perspectives of this important design discipline for the audio visual media.
